This is one of hundreds of videos where I answer the most commonly asked questions related to small business websites. Today’s question is, “How do I go about buying a domain name?”

Those of you that don’t know what a domain name is, that’s the “www.yourcompanyname.com,” the address how to get to your website.

You have probably been lambasted with Super Bowl commercials for the last few years from GoDaddy. Do not use GoDaddy to buy your domain name. Let me repeat that, do not use Godaddy to purchase your domain name. There are various of other companies out there that do a great job. They don’t hound you or try to up-sell you. They have much better customer service than GoDaddy.

The one I currently recommend is Hover, it’s a fantastic business, go buy your domain there. Or if you’re planning on becoming a Fiddler Online client client, that’s part of the service we provide. We will purchase that domain name for you and help you find a great domain name.

Last tip regarding this question is if you go to a website called Domize, it’s a great way to play around and brainstorm on what domain names are available and what you have to choose from so go get it!
